and yes of course , it’s a Photoshop work and I will post a tutorial soon in my blog on how to create an ordinary photo into a stunning work of art

There are several ways to do IR photography, some people use a special converted IR camera, and other use filters, well I preferred the second way, It’s cheaper :). I used Infrared filter from Cokin, P007, or James bond filter, that’s what people are used to called this filter.
Taking an IR photo needs a special setup in the camera, you have to do some custom white balance for the camera, with IR filter attached, point the camera to a white paper or green grass and set the WB… and you also have to do some post production with Photoshop.. there are several tutorials on the net how to do these things.

For sure, to take a perfect IR photo, you need a lot of practice, i mean a lot

Meanwhile, another thing that keep me very busy is that finally I start working in a real German’s company, and the job is the same job that I’ve been working for the past 3 years before I went to Germany… ^_^ and for sure much2 better than working in a factory or restaurant and the good thing is, they allow me to speak english rather than deutsch, cause ich spreche kein gut deutsch

The German’s regulation allow a student to work in a company, university or any other institution, but the maximum working hours is 90 days/year, and 72 hours/month or 18 hours/week and another thing, the maximum revenue for student is around 400 Euro per month (tax free)… if you earn more than 400 a month, you have to pay a tax, usually around 30 - 50 %, but at the end of the year, if you’re lucky, you can take the tax again.

The interesting part is youtube uses Flash video (FLV) to delivery a video in their service, the reason maybe to reduce file size and also allows most platforms and browsers to easily view the content. You can upload almost any video file (mov, mpeg, wmv, asf, avi ) to their server, and they automatically convert it into FLV, yeah… I did a little research on this one and surfing around and found that they use Server Side Encoding Software called On2 Flix Engine SDK.

Well of course I have to try their services, so I created an account and upload a video. I want to see how the server side enconding works ;), so I created a ‘big’ video file (60Mb mpeg version) and upload to their server, well it took a while to upload, but since i used aDSL, so it’s no problem for me…

After wait for while, a message pop on the screen and says :

Your upload was successfully added! Your video is currently being processed and will be available to view in a few minutes. You can add or edit your video information and share with friends.

So here’s my first youtube video look like

It’s my band’s performance in newscafe in 2005. The song is called : The Spirit Carries on (Dream Theater) , the file size in FLV is now only ‘15Mb’, so if you have a limited connection, please be patient .

Well.. since this subject is very interesting for me, I’m thinking to use it with my Master Project, and I just found out that there’s and open source for this server side encoding, FFMPEG .
